A cold front crosses the North Island on Friday, then a low develops just to the northeast early Saturday and directs a strong southeasterly flow over the North Island. Southeasterlies over the North Island ease on Sunday as the low pulls away to the east, and the ridge over the South Island spreads north. The ridge dominates on Monday, but a front approaches the South Island from the southwest later in the day. Forecast issued at 0631hrs Friday 29-Mar-2024 Valid to 7 am Friday for Inshore waters from Pukerua Bay to Makara Beach. Strong wind advisory. Friday: Variable 5 knots.
