Relief for dairy farmers as Fonterra increases its forecast Farmgate Milk Price - after a shaky end to last year

    Fonterra

The midpoint's risen from seven-dollars-50 to seven-dollars-80 per kilo of milk solids.

Fonterra Chief Executive Miles Hurrell says the midpoint pre-Christmas was around six dollars-70, which was below cost-of-production.

He says they've since had five increases, and they're up about 10-percent from where they were in December, so they're positive signs.
