Questions in Parliament today about meat being wasted in the Mycoplasma bovis cattle outbreak
10 May 2018
A cull of 22 thousand infected cattle is underway with almost half of them destroyed so far.
That led to claims of wastage from the former Primary Industries Minister Nathan Guy.
Mr Guy wanted to know why cattle were being trucked to Gore for slaughter and ending up in the Oamaru landfill when the meat from them can be consumed.
The Government didn't have an answer but did say the infection's expected to get worse.
