An investigation's cleared DOC of blame - for the death of eight cows after a 1080 drop
6 December 2019
The Department of Conservation conducted an aerial drop in 2018 on the Mapara Wildlife Reserve, near Te Kuiti, in the King Country.
Three days after, Mark and Paula Stone found eight cows dead.
The investigation's found the cows entered the area through an insecure fence and ate the poison.
The operation was found to have followed proper procedures and no breach of conduct occurred.
