A 21-year-old will appear in court today... charged with the murder of a Waihi Beach man

The 22-year-old was killed on Saturday night... just a few days after another death on the same street.

56-year-old Derrick Hann was killed early on New Year's Day, following a disorder incident.

But Police say there's nothing to suggest the two deaths are linked.

An investigation into the 56-year-old's death is still ongoing.

Locals can expect an increased police presence over the coming days, however Police say there's no risk to the wider community.
