Wellingtonians appear to be going kitty crazy as demand for feline friends starts outstripping supply

Wellingtonians appear to be going kitty crazy as demand for feline friends starts outstripping supply

The SPCA and the Upper Hutt Animal Rescue Society are reporting high volumes of residents desperate for a new cat.

Rescue Society's Yvonne Vanroy says Wellingtonians are making the drive out to the Hutt because many places in the city are sold out.

She says when one woman heard they still had a cat available, she came straight away to adopt it.
