Support for commercialising Wellington City's library

Support for commercialising Wellington City's library

Mayor Andy Foster has added the suggestion, in a raft of last minute changes to his Long Term Plan budget, in an attempt to bring costs down.

He suggests privatising parts of the capital's library when its rebuilt - after it was forced to shut following the 2016 Kaikoura earthquake.

President of Wellington Chamber of Commerce, Jo Healey, says a shared ownership model would have significant benefits and fund more projects elsewhere.
