An early morning escape, for the occupants of a house that's gone up in flames in Wanaka

An early morning escape, for the occupants of a house that's gone up in flames in Wanaka

Firefighters were called to the house on Wilkin Road just before 2.30 this morning, to find it well ablaze.

However, everyone inside the home got themselves out, and there were no reported injuries.

Four fire crews worked to get the blaze under control, and one crew remains at the scene.

Four crews were also called to a fire in an unoccupied house, on Greymouth's Main South Road, about 1.15 this morning.

A fire investigator is due at both scenes this morning.
