Northland Police are investigating a man's death over the weekend

It's believed the 28-year-old was involved in an altercation at a Kerikeri address - in Te Tii.

Police are running forensics on a pair of cars and asking the public for help piecing together events.

They want to hear from anyone who saw a silver Honda Accord, registration: F-E-W-685; and a silver Toyota Camry, registration: C-L-Q-142 in Paihia or Kerikeri from three-pm Friday to eight-am Saturday.

One person is helping police with enquiries.
