Housing price records in seven regions

Median prices across the country increased 15 percent to 795-thousand dollars last month, year-on-year.
The biggest increase was in Manawatu/Wanganui, where prices shot up more than 35 percent, to 626 thousand.
Canterbury, Hawke's Bay and Southland were up nearly a third.
Real Estate Institute chief executive, Jen Baird, says prices are proving resilient, with some regions noticing a decrease in the number of first home buyers, partly due to rising prices.
