Mixed emotions over the Government's traffic light announcement

On the December 30 everywhere south of Northland will be in orange.

However Northland will be staying in red till at least January 17.

Ricky Houghton is chief executive of Kaitaia housing project, He Korowai Trust.

He says while the decision will impact the region ... they're not currently ready for a major outbreak.

Houghton says currently all the services in the region are on overload with only 32 high dependency beds available in Northland.
