    The pilot involved in a helicopter crash in Karamea is reported to be conscious and breathing

    The pilot involved in a helicopter crash in Karamea is reported to be conscious and breathing


    Emergency services rushed to the West Coast town, north of Westport, after being alerted at about 4pm.

    A police spokesperson says initial indications are the pilot was the only one on board at the time of the crash.

    It will be reported to the Civil Aviation Authority.
