    A 43 year old man's been arrested in charged after he allegedly entered an Otaki property with a gun and seriously assaulted another man


    The assault happened last Saturday ... the victim received a cut to the head and extensive bruising before managing to escape through a window.

    Levin police conducted a search warrant on Tuesday which found the firearm and alleged offender involved.

    The man's charges include wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, unlawful possession and reckless discharge of a firearm.

    He's been remanded in custody and will reappear in Levin District Court on July 27.
