Relief for Queenstown businesses as visitor spending is up significantly higher than pre-Covid-19 ski seasons

Relief for Queenstown businesses as visitor spending is up significantly higher than pre-Covid-19 ski seasons

Data from Destination Queenstown shows expenditure during the peak ski season months was up 27 percent compared to 2019.

Visitor length also increased 15 percent - with Queenstown Airport passenger arrivals surpassing 2019 figures.

NZSki chief executive Paul Anderson, says it's good news for a city who felt the effects of COVID.

Anderson says the good ski season brought back the vibrancy to Queenstown, Arrowtown and Wanaka.
