    Fire and Emergency is increasing specialist and technical resources ahead of tropical cyclone Gabrielle


    It says Urban Search and Rescue squads are equipped for light rescue and rapid damage assessments.

    Teams skilled in water rescues, drone operators, paramedics and engineers will also be deployed.

    The extra support will be based in Kaitaia, Whangarei, Auckland, the Coromandel and Gisborne to assist local staff.
