Northern and Western parts of New Zealand are set for a soaking over the next two days

An orange raining warning is in place for Northland from this afternoon to tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile up to 140 millimetres of rain is expected for the east of the North Island from early tomorrow until Tuesday.

Tasman west of Motueka is in the firing line too - with heavy rain from the morning.

And Westland could see up to 280 millimetres of rain between early tomorrow until Tuesday night.
