Four men have been arrested after an attempted robbery in Taupo last Wednesday

Police were called to a Tamamutu Street store, after reports of two men damaging and attempting to steal - one carrying a firearm.

It's believed they left with two others in a stolen vehicle.

The men -- aged between 25 and 38 -- are due in the Manukau District Court today.

Charges include assault with intent to rob, aggravated robbery, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and being in an organised crime group.
