Australia will fight to keep its Rugby World Cup playoff hopes alive against Wales this morning in the midst of a bombshell over the future of coach Eddie Jones

The Sydney Morning Herald reports Jones had a secret Zoom interview with Japanese rugby bosses on the eve of the tournament, about taking over as head coach post-World Cup.

The match is just kicking off .

Meanwhile, a refreshed Scotland side's kept their quarterfinal hopes alive, with a 45-17 win over Tonga keeping them in touching distance with Ireland and South Africa in Pool B.

Stand-in captain Finn Russell says the side bounced back well after a two-week break.
