Former Silver Ferns coach Yvonne Willering is pouring cold water on any notion they can wrestle the Constellation Cup off Australia

Former Silver Ferns coach Yvonne Willering is pouring cold water on any notion they can wrestle the Constellation Cup off Australia

New Zealand would need a big 17-goal victory in the final meeting in Auckland on Monday, to take the series... after edging the Diamonds by three goals last night in Invercargill.

Willering says the Ferns are no chance to do that against the world number ones.

The new Wellington Phoenix men's coach, Giancarlo Italiano, says predictions they'll claim the wooden spoon, ahead of this weekend's A-League opener against Western Sydney, are disrespectful.

And Formula One drivers could be fined a million euros - around $1.8 million dollars - after the sport's governing body announced an increase to the maximum sanction stewards can impose on a driver.
