Police have made 3 arrests and found offensive weapons in Whakatane and Opotiki

Acting Area Commander for Eastern Bay of Plenty Senior Sergeant Tristan Murray says it's part of their work against ongoing gang conflict in the area.
Police conducted six traffic stops overnight and this morning, and searched an address under the Criminal Activity Intervention Legislation.
Two of the arrests involved firearms.
The 3rd arrest, relating to cannabis supply, was of a youth who will be referred to Youth Services.
Police ask the public to share information about anyone illegally possessing firearms and weapons.
