Some Air New Zealand passengers have had to take a taxi, rather than a plane, from Gisborne to Tauranga today

Some Air New Zealand passengers have had to take a taxi, rather than a plane, from Gisborne to Tauranga today

A flight from Gisborne to Auckland was cancelled because of engineering problems.

A connecting flight from Auckland to Tauranga was also cancelled.

Air New Zealand's confirmed its Gisborne team organised a road service to make sure the customers got to their destination.

They say the drive was set to take 'under four hours.'
