    A witness to the Enchanter capsize that killed five friends near North Cape in 2022 - has been scrutinised in cross examination


    Skipper Lance Goodhew is on trial in the Whangarei District Court, charged with breaching his duties as a worker on the vessel.

    Open Justice Reporter Shannon Pitman says local fisherman, Matt Gentry told the court he anchored up that that day - because conditions were too dangerous.

    But she says Goodhew's lawyer produced evidence Gentry's boat was out on the water that day, and if the weather was so bad, why was he out in it?
