A man's been sentenced after stealing hundreds of beehives in the central North Island

The 26 year old man was sentenced in the Tauranga District Court this week - he was ordered to pay more than 70-thousand dollars in reparations and given 11 months home detention.
His theft of 333 beehives, to supply orchards, was estimated to cost the industry 184-thousand dollars.
The environmental and financial harm was described as immense.
