Former New Zealand and Canterbury cricketer Brian Hastings has died aged 84

    He played 31 tests and 11 one-day internationals between 1969 and 1976.

Hastings formed a 115-run fourth-wicket partnership with Glenn Turner in New Zealand's first test victory over Australia at Christchurch in 1974.

He was presented with the match ball at a 50-year reunion in September at Hagley Oval.

Hasting was also involved in the highest test 10th wicket stand of 151 runs with Richard Collinge against Pakistan at Auckland in 1973 - that lasted 40 years.
