    A homicide investigation continues after the death of an eight-year-old boy in Whakatane


    Police were called to Whakatane Hospital at 5.30pm Friday after the child died.

    A 25-year-old woman's been arrested and has appeared in Whakatane District Court charged with assault.

    She'll reappear Wednesday.

    Police aren't ruling out laying charges against other people.
