    Accused triple murderer Justin Jeffries has pleaded not guilty on the grounds of insanity


    The 52 year old is charged with murdering 59-year-old Michelle Schiller on September 19th, as well as Jessie Currin and Glendon Currin - who were in their 70s - on September 23rd in Rotorua.

    He's also charged with wounding Adam Sour with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on the same day .

    Jeffries' lawyer Andy Hill says a trial is necessary to determine the issue of insanity.

    It's been set down for four weeks, from February 2027.
