Christchurch man Cyle Jetson's been jailed for 11 years, with a non-parole period of six years for his role in the 2017 murder of Pier Raviola

Christchurch man Cyle Jetson's been jailed for 11 years, with a non-parole period of six years for his role in the 2017 murder of Pier Raviola

The Herald's Open Justice reports the 28-year-old was the muscle in a planned group assault and robbery of the 65-year-old.

The pensioner was left for dead in a carpark.

Jetson was sentenced to life with a non-parole period of 11 years in 2020 -- he later appealed and then pleaded guilty just before a retrial.

Justice Jonathan Eaton agreed with the Crown and defence it would be manifestly unjust to sentence him for life.
