A Wellington man accused of shooting his neighbour's guest at a fiery Guy Fawkes event - has been found not guilty

A Wellington man accused of shooting his neighbour's guest at a fiery Guy Fawkes event - has been found not guilty

Tuhi Alexander was on trial after a fight started while kids were lighting fireworks on a Lower Hutt street in 2022.

He was believed to have approached the supervising adults, armed with a gun - but the jury couldn't determine who the gun belonged to.

The complainant says he joined in the fight before being shot in the shoulder - the defence argued he shot himself.

    Jury deliberations lasted 12 hours.
