A couple's been charged with defrauding a person over two years - with bogus cancer treatment bills to the tune of more than one-million-dollars

A couple's been charged with defrauding a person over two years - with bogus cancer treatment bills to the tune of more than one-million-dollars

Detective Senior Sergeant Shane Dye says the pair first lived on the West Coast, then recently moved to Wanaka.

He says they've been living the high life in rented properties, owning high-end European cars.

He says it was allegedly funded by defrauding family, friends and associates.

Analysis of the couple's bank accounts by the Tasman Organised Crime Unit - indicate there are other victims still to be contacted by police.

The couple will appear in the Queenstown District Court.
