Doubt that Dunedin's two new hospitals will compete with eachother

Doubt that Dunedin's two new hospitals will compete with eachother

The three-storey private hospital specialising in general and elective surgery, is expected to treat more than 10-thousand patients a year and open by mid-2028.

The new 1.8-billion-dollar public hospital will open in 2031.

Mayor Jules Radich says the more health care Dunedin has, the better.

He says the public hospital will deal with care right across Otago and Southland - so both facets are needed and will work interactively.
