    The competition is fierce, but friendly, on the Waitemata today


    Dragon boat racing is among the highlights of the Auckland Anniversary Day regatta.

    Among the competitors are a crew of paddlers from the Bay of Plenty who dub themselves the 'Boobops'.

    The women, aged from their 40s to their 70s, are all breast cancer survivors.

    Coach Claire Hendy says the comradery is the best thing about the regatta.
