Police want a man who allegedly stabbed another man in Alexandra last night, to come forward

It happened at about 11.30 during a confrontation between two people known to each other.

A 22-year-old man was flown to Dunedin Hospital with serious injuries.

He's still there but is in a stable condition following surgery.

Policy say they know who the alleged offender is and that he's aware they want to speak to him.

They believe he's left the area and may've travelled to Southland.
