Four people were shot- and one killed - after what appears to be a neighbourhood dispute escalated last night in Auckland's Grey Lynn

Family have named the victim as 18-year-old Maxwel-Dee Repia.

Detective Inspector Glenn Baldwin says there were criminals involved in the two groups who are known to police.

All of the surviving victims have been taken to hospital and are all due in surgery today.

Baldwin says police will be investigating a previous incident of wilful damage which also took place on Tuarangi Road.
