Public transport trials have been cut in several areas in Otago, following NZTA's funding allocation for the region

Public transport trials have been cut in several areas in Otago, following NZTA's funding allocation for the region

Otago and Southland region councils had sought co-funding totalling 1.78 billion dollars from the Government for all projects across the region - but were allocated 380 million less.

Otago Regional Council is changing planned programmes, due to a nine million dollar shortfall.

Projects like additional Queenstown ferry services, an Oamaru-Dunedin bus route and a Wanaka public transport case will not go ahead.
