Wellington Phoenix coach Giancarlo Italiano is ruing his side's poor start in their 3-2 A-League loss to Adelaide United on the road

Wellington Phoenix coach Giancarlo Italiano is ruing his side's poor start in their 3-2 A-League loss to Adelaide United on the road

The Nix fell behind 2-nil after just 12 minutes, before fighting back to draw level at 2-all at halftime.

Adelaide would score the game-winner in the 89th minute.

Italiano praised his team's resilience, but says the efforts in the opening stages were a letdown.

The Nix are 11th in the standings with two games remaining.
