An Auckland man has denied murdering a father and son in east Auckland last month

An Auckland man has denied murdering a father and son in east Auckland last month

The 38-year-old is charged with killing 36-year-old Jung Sup Lee and his 11-year-old son, Ha-il - both killed in a house fire at Bucklands Beach on October 2.

Police argue the Murvale Drive blaze was deliberately lit.

The accused appeared for the first time in the High Court at Auckland today.

He bowed his head and wept during parts of the brief hearing - and entered not guilty pleas.

The judge has ordered a three-week trial for February 2027.
