Police investigating a Wellington kidnapping have released CCTV footage to try to identify the culprits

Police investigating a Wellington kidnapping have released CCTV footage to try to identify the culprits

It shows a man and woman parked on Shelley Bay Road, when two unknown men forced the first man into a dark sedan about 8pm on August 25.

His partner then leaves the area in a black BMW, and is followed by the sedan to a Rongotai Road carpark between the KFC and Mobil.

There, one of the men gets out and approaches the woman's car.

The victim takes the opportunity to escape, running towards Onepu Road.

Police believe it's an isolated incident, with no ongoing risk to the public.
