Road crews are praying for no more rain as delays extend to months for road repairs into the Marlborough Sounds

Road crews are praying for no more rain as delays extend to months for road repairs into the Marlborough Sounds

There's six areas of major damage on Queen Charlotte Drive following the torrential rain, and 17 slips and drop outs on Kenepuru Road.

Council Recovery Manager Dean Heiford says the damage has isolated communities who can't get vehicles over slips and are relying on boat access.

He says the thought of more rain on unstable areas keeps him awake at night as it would push back the clean-up.
