    A rahui is in place for Arkles Bay near Whangaparaoa, north of Auckland's CBD after a person was found dead in the water yesterday morning


    Police were alerted by a member of the public just before seven.

    They are working to identify the deceased and figure out the circumstances of the death.

    Ngatai Manuhiri Kaumatua Carmen Hetaraka says people shouldn't take part in water activities or gather seafood.

    The rahui is in place until Wednesday midday.
