    Fonterra's announced a 75-million-dollar investment to expand butter production at its South Canterbury Clandeboye site

    The co-op's signalled the new butter line in its Annual Results - boosting capacity by up to 50-thousand tonnes a year, and create 16 new jobs.

    CEO Miles Hurrell says it's part of a billion-dollar investment plan to add value and improve efficiency.

    Construction begins late next year, with the first product expected off the line in April 2027.
