Free blood testing is now available for the near 24-thousand residents in Te Anau and Wanaka

Free blood testing is now available for the near 24-thousand residents in Te Anau and Wanaka

Up until now, residents haven't had access to free testing because both towns don't have local blood collection centres.

Those who needed tests either had to travel over an hour to reach a free collection centre or stump up a co-payment at their local general practice.

Associate Health Minister Matt Doocey calls this an important step in improving access to healthcare in rural areas.
