    The Tauranga Whai have defended their Tauihi national women's basketball league title with a resounding 93-66 win over the Mainland Pouakai in the final in Christchurch


    The Whai only led by one at half-time, but produced a storming second half, with 30 and 31 points in the third and fourth quarters.

    Mikayla Cowling led scoring for the Whai with 28 points, while Laina Snyder pulled in 20 rebounds.
