A late flurry of birdies has helped golfer Daniel Hillier jump up the leaderboard after his second round at the Spanish Open in Madrid

The Wellingtonian's birdied five of the last six holes to post a five-under par 66.

It takes him to six-under for the tournament - just three shots off the lead in a tie for 11th.

Canterbury's Kazuma Kobori has comfortably missed the cut after a five-over par round saw him finish seven-over overall.
