Canterbury's Momoka Kobori's making a statement in an Australian PGA mixed event in Victoria.

After hitting two eagles in an opening round six-under 65, she's recorded three birdies early in her second round to move to nine-under and a tie for the lead.

Kobori last year became the first female winner of a mixed field New Zealand PGA event.
