    A 43-year-old man has died after suffering a medical event while swimming in a public pool in Christchurch


    Emergency services were called to Graham Condon Recreation and Sports Centre in Papanui at around 11:30 this morning.

    A police spokesperson says the man had been pulled from the water and CPR was started but unfortunately the man did not respond.

    Graham Condon Recreation and Sports Centre is closed for the rest of the day.
