World championship bronze medallist Lewis Clareburt beats his own national 400-metre individual medley record

World championship bronze medallist Lewis Clareburt has beaten his own national 400-metre individual medley record at the New Zealand swimming championships

He clocked four minutes 9.87 seconds, which also eclipsed the Olympic qualifying time.

The 21-year-old swam almost eight seconds slower in the same race a few hours earlier, which he has told Sky Sport he needs to fix prior to Tokyo.
