The Kiwi has his 200 metre individual medley heat this afternoon.
Coach Simon Mayne says the butterfly and breaststroke are particularly important.
Reynolds' heat is at 12:51 - while golden girl Sophie Pascoe competes in the women's event at one o'clock.
Also in the pool, Nikita Howarth in the 100 metre breaststroke from midday and Tupou Neiufi in the 50 metre freestyle from 1:38.
