    A 28-year-old man has died while swimming in the Waikato's Waingaro River

    A 28-year-old man has died while swimming in the Waikato's Waingaro River


    Emergency services were told of a swimmer missing in the river, west of Ngaruawahia, just before 2pm.

    A jetski was sent in to search, and the man was found.

    However despite efforts to resuscitate him, he died at the scene.
