Alex de Minaur has become the first Australian in 17 years to reach the last 16 of the French tennis Open at Roland Garros

The 11th seed has come from a set and a break down to beat German Jan Lennard Struff 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-3 in a third round match interrupted by rain.



de Minaur will face fifth seed Daniil Medvedev in tonight's fourth round, who's downed Czech Tomas Machac in four sets.

In the women's draw, second seed Aryna Sabalenka's swept aside Paula Badosa to reach the last 16.
