The mother of a young man whose body was discovered in the water at a North Auckland beach say his loss has left a permanent void

Twenty year old Tyler Porter went missing 11 days ago in the Arkles Bay area in Whangaparaoa.

He was found dead just before 7 yesterday morning by a member of the public, following a community-wide search.

In a tribute on social media, his mother Shara-Lee Porter says she is brokenhearted beyond words, and a part of her will be forever missing.
